Already There

Took my road to where three rivers meet

And the mountain rises high above the street

And there came to me a revelation

Just when I was thinking “what’s the use”

Saw a serpent talking to the golden goose

And a scorpion emerged through a smoke screen of sensation

They agreed there was more than one way to skin a cat

It’s the rappers these days know where it’s at

The smoke in the room hung motionless in the air

Can’t quite define this situation

Don’t even know my destination

I’ve been moving slow

But I’ve been moving steady

I get home sometimes only to find that I'm already there

Took my road to where a single spider climbs

Up and down a thread of nursery rhymes

It was there I first forged my intention

In the corner a stranger stood

His face was covered up by his hood and he was silent

I just thought it might be worth a mention

Met a drowning woman

I tried to save her
